Pedro Bay Corporation Land Use Permits

 

LAND USE PERMITS

PBC owns 92,000 acres of land around Pedro Bay, our Land Use Policy allows access to the public on a limited basis with permission. Permits are valid for the calendar year January - December.

  • Residents (non-shareholders) pay $100

  • Non-Residents (non-shareholders) pay $175

    **Access does not include the land surrounding Iliamna River or Chekok Creek. This permit does not authorize fishing with a commercially guided outfitter on our lands, outfitters are encouraged to seek a permit with Pedro Bay Corporation.

The only groups with access to PBC lands in 2026 are as follows

  1. Angry Eagle Lodge & Outfitters

  2. The University of Washington, Fisheries Research Institute

No permit is transferable and may not be transferred, rented, leased, assigned, or in any way encumbered

  1. No interest in PBC land is conveyed or established, this permit may be revoked at any time with or without cause.

  2. PBC will not be liable and will be indemnified and held harmless for any injuries or damages sustained as a result of the use under this permit.

  3. Fires will be contained

  4. Licensee is responsible for clean up at sites visited on PBC land. The site should be returned to it’s original state.

  5. Licensee shall not disturb any archaeological or anthropological site and shall report any sites discovered to PBC. Licensee shall leave the site and any artifacts undisturbed.

  6. No clear cutting allowed

  7. Use of firearms will be limited to that for necessary protection, no target practice permitted.

  8. No monuments or markers will be removed

  9. Use under this permit shall not interfere with subsistence fishing, berry picking or other subsistence activities.

  10. Please respect our village, people, and traditions. Any illegal activity or bad behavior will be grounds for revocation of this permit.

Unauthorized use of PBC land is prohibited and trespassing is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Alaska Statutes

Sec.      11.46.320. Criminal trespass in the first degree.

(a)   A person commits the crime of criminal trespass in the first degree if the person enters or remains unlawfully

(1)   on land with intent to commit a crime on land; or

(2)   in a dwelling.

(b)   Criminal trespass in the first degree is a class A misdemeanor.

Sec.      11.46.330. Criminal trespass in the second degree.

(a)   A person commits the crime of criminal trespass in the second degree if the person remains unlawfully

(1)   in or upon premises; or

(2)   in a propelled vehicle.

(b)   Criminal trespass in the second degree is a class B misdemeanor

Sec.      11.46.350. Definition:“enter or remain unlawfully” means to

(1)   enter or remain in or upon premises or in a propelled vehicle when the premises or propelled vehicle, at the time, is not open to the public and when the defendant is not authorized or privileged to do so;

(2)   fail to leave the premises or a propelled vehicle that is open to the public after being lawfully directed to do so by the person in charge; or

(3)   enter or remain upon premises or in a propelled vehicle in violation of a provision in an order issued or filed under AS 18.66.100 – 18.66.180 or issued under former AS 25.35.010 (b) or 25.35.020.
